Fa Vase: Loughborough Uni v Trojans

After receiving a bye the Trojans took their first step on the road to Wembley in the Fa Vase at the second qualifying stage and travelled to the impressive Holywell Sports complex to face Loughborough University, who joined us at this stage courtesy of an emphatic 5-0 win over our NCEL friends, Winterton Rangers.

The Scholars took the lead on twenty four minutes when Joe Boachie danced his way through a several challenges before applying a neat finish, but by half time Adam Lee had turned the game on it head with a composed side foot finish after a bit of a scramble on thirty seven and a superb right foot volley two minutes later.

Liam Nelthorpe made it 1-3 just after the interval with another great finish from a tight angle and Matthew Robinson was on hand to slot home the fourth ten minutes from time after the home side had only half cleared a Kurtis Morley effort two minutes from time Joe Boachie grabbed another consolation for his side.

The draw for the next round is on Monday, and we’ll let you know as soon as possible who our opponents will be.
